I'm Dan, a 22-year-old and the founder of DIRTY GUT. A few years back, I lost 40 pounds and realized something that changed the trajectory of my life: what you eat is everything.
That journey made me obsessive about food... reading labels, questioning ingredients, understanding how the body actually responds to what we put in it.
But I had one problem: I loved chocolate. And every "healthier" option on the market was either junk dressed up in green packaging or tasted like cardboard. So I decided to fix it myself.
100 years of
the same Junk.
Here's something nobody talks about: the chocolate bar you buy today is essentially identical to what was sold a century ago. Cocoa, heavily processed sugar, and a slurry of fillers and artificial additives.
But for thousands of years before that, chocolate was prized as a health food. Ancient civilizations used it as medicine. It was bitter, complex, and powerful, nothing like the candy-bar version big chocolate sells us today.
Chocolate isn't unhealthy. The industry ruined it. And we're here to undo that.

We don't buy pre-made chocolate and rebrand it. We work with a specialty craft chocolate producer to grind and produce our chocolate from scratch, starting with ethically sourced cacao from Ghana and pairing it with exceptional ingredients from around the world.
The result is a deeply creamy, genuinely delicious chocolate — snack-sized bites packed with live gut-friendly probiotic cultures, free from refined sugars, fillers, and anything artificial. Chocolate you can eat every day without a second thought.
